Procurement Manager (March 2024)

About the Role:
We are looking for a Procurement Manager to develop and implement strategies that are aligned with the project business objectives. This role will work closely with the Development General manager as well as more broadly, civil construction, developments, wharf, airport and business park to improve all purchasing and management functions across Wagner Corporation.

About You
A highly commercially focused individual you will be quick to understand business objectives to inform your decision making. You will partner with management to ensure support projects being delivered safely, on time, and within budget.  You will enjoy making this role your own implementing processes from the ground up and bringing the business along for the journey.

Key tasks and responsibilities

• Lead the purchasing functions of the business to ensure they are carried out effectively and efficiently.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to receive the best possible terms and conditions.
• Developing and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
• Detailed knowledge of relevant markets and ability to source alternatives.
• Anticipate trends that have the potential to impact the business and act on them.
• Conduct stock takes and reconciliations at agreed intervals.

Skills and experience

• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role.
• Tertiary education in Procurement, Supply chain & logistics or relevant field.
• Construction White Card.
• Strong leadership, people management and communication skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work within multiple project teams with competing demands and priorities.
• High degree of computer literacy
