Surveyor (March 2024)

About the role.
We are looking for an experienced Surveyor to join our dynamic team at Wellcamp Business Park. Working both independently and closely with the Civil Construction team, this role reports to the Project Engineer to deliver projects and services throughout the Wellcamp Business Park and greater areas, safely, on time, and within budget.

About You
You will be a professional who understands how their role fits into the broader business. As a mentor and a subject matter expert your ability to translate technical advice into on the ground practical action as well as clear and concise reporting to senior management will be invaluable to the role.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain data sketches, maps, reports and legal description of surveys.
• Verify the accuracy of survey data.
• Conduct and record results of ground surveys.
• Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines and characteristics of terrain.
• Research existing records and write descriptions of property surveys for use in deeds, leases and other legal documents. 
• Coordinate findings with the work of engineering and architectural personnel and clients. 
• Upkeep and calibration of survey equipment.
• Analyse objectives and specifications in order to prepare and direct others in survey proposals. 

Skills and experience

• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role.
• Tertiary Qualifications in surveying and spatial sciences.
• Construction white card.
• Sound application and understanding of 12D.
• Experience with Trimble Business Centre, AutoCAD and other construction programs.
• Drone licence desirable with any relevant experience.
• Sound understanding of Pix4D Drone mapping software.
• Committed to delivering high quality services with a critical eye for detail and accuracy. 
• Self-motivated with the ability to work within multiple project teams with competing demands and priorities.
• High level interpersonal skills with the ability to ensure effective two-way communication when consulting and communicating with clients, contractors, management and colleagues. 
• Excellent safety awareness and commitment.
